They are dying
Thousands of hungry people fleeing the drought stricken areas of Somalia. Exhausted are they staggering across the neighboring border or to Mogadishu, the Somali capital, in hope to find food and water. Everyday thousand are arriving at the camps in Kenya, Ethiopia and in Mogadishu Somalia. All together there are about 12 million starving people, the majority being women and children.

We are helping
The needs are many in these camps such as food, water, shelter, medicine etc. It is also a question of restoration of dignity as well as health and the road of rehabilitation might be long. The enormity of the catastrophy should not stop us, We can help! This appeal is to get means to help in three specific locations: Dagahaley Camp in Dadaab, Kenya. Dolo Ado Camp in Ethiopia. Mogadishu Camp in Somalia.

Somali believers have a network with people present in these locations. Their goal is to get immediate help to these camps. The goods are purchased in nearest locations and distributed under their supervision. No flights or long transportation distances.

SomaliHope is registered in Sweden and is a Somali organisation run by Christian Somalis, led by a Somali OMer. They have the network, the capacity and understanding of the best way to help. We can all can help in getting the support needed for the supplies and local transport. SomaliHope in partnership with OM Sweden is sensing the urgency of the situation and need your help NOW!
